Over the course of the 14 years that we have been in business, Pixviewer have either been nominated for, or awarded, many recognitions. However we had never called ourselves an “AWARD WINNING COMPANY” – till now. Since we have started seeing many clients showing more interest in labels, than actual experience or expertise, we thought this might be the right time to polish our awards and put them up for display! Fordham, with a population of 77,840 people, is a neighborhood of New York City, located north of Manhattan and bordering bustling Belmont. The neighborhood which is a part of Bronx Community Board 5 is bordered by Fordham Road to the north, Southern Boulevard to the east, East 161st Street to the south, and Jerome Avenue to the west. Its first growth was in the 1920s, when middle-class and working-class families from Manhattan flocked into the area, attracted by the then-modern housing and convenient subway access by Concourse, Jerome Avenue, and Webster Avenue lines to business districts in Manhattan where they could work and shop. The primary thoroughfare is Fordham Road; its main rapid transit line is the IND Concourse Line, operating under the Grand Concourse, with the IRT Jerome Avenue Line on its western border.

Free Wifi for the Fordham Road BID

An online upgrade for the Fordham Road

Starting 2013 December, Fordham’s Business Improvement District (BID), will have a series of online access points or Internet hubs along its buzzing commercial stretch of East Fordham Road from Grand Concourse to Arthur Avenue. It will be sponsored by the Spanish company Gowex and will be installed along the shopping district in phases over the next three years.

What does this mean to the shoppers and the public?

The shoppers or students trickling down from nearby Fordham University or Monroe College will be able to get online both outside and in local businesses using the free WIFI. This means more people will be relying on local search engine results or apps to locate a product or service they are looking for.
